Conservation and restoration of mountain tapir habitat in Ecuador, using threatened and endemic plants.

"In the last eigth years we work hard to preserve the last cloud forest near Baños town.  This forest is a critic habitat for the endangered mountain tapir, and in the recent years we added some pastures to the reserve.


The main aim of the project is enforce the conservation process in this protected area and restore habitat, using some endangered, endemic trees and key ecological native species.


A educational campaign and local policies will be adressed to protect and restore mountain tapir habitat at regional scale in Llanganates Sangay Ecologic Corridor."
